How to “install” Darija Dictionary as an app

Want to use the dictionary like a real app? You can create a shortcut on your home screen. It’s free, fast, and you don’t need to download anything from the store.

Quick steps

  1. Open darijadictionary.com in your browser.
  2. Tap the menu (Android: ⋮ in Chrome | iPhone: Share ⬆️ in Safari).
  3. Select Add to Home Screen (or Install App).
  4. Confirm with Add. Done!

Android (Google Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome and go to darijadictionary.com.
  2. Tap the menu ⋮ (top right).
  3. Select Add to Home Screen or Install App.
  4. You can rename it (e.g., “Arabic Dictionary”).
  5. Tap Add and confirm.
  6. Look for the icon on your home screen and open it like an app.

Notes for Android

  • Sometimes you’ll see a banner “Install app” at the bottom – you can just tap it.
  • On some devices, after “Add” you may need to drag the icon manually to the screen.

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

On iOS, this only works with Safari.

  1. Open Safari and go to darijadictionary.com.
  2. Tap the Share button (square with arrow ⬆️).
  3. Scroll down and select Add to Home Screen.
  4. Rename it if you want.
  5. Tap Add (top right).
  6. The icon will appear on your home screen – it opens without a browser bar.

Why don’t I see “Add to Home Screen”?

  • On iPhone: make sure you’re using Safari (not Instagram, Facebook, or other apps).
  • On Android: use Chrome (not incognito) and wait a few seconds.
  • Update your browser if needed.

Does it update automatically?
Yes, it always loads the latest version.
